                             About the Artist

Amy McDermott – Founder of Heart and Soul Portraits

As an award winning photographer who adores photographing newborns and children, it is rewarding for me to have the opportunity to watch your children change and grow throughout the years.  My greatest compliment from my clients is how I am able to capture their true personalities.  Especially with children, it is that natural, fleeting expression or candid moment that I strive to capture in a photograph.

Photo sessions are a fun, enjoyable experience. I take pride in the portraits I create for each client, from Mom’s  maternity portraits, newborn, children’s and, finally, completed family portraits.

Since there are many options for fine art portraiture, I am also a trained digital artist and can create perfect portraits using advanced digital techniques and styles.

I also offer other distinctive services.  These include, custom collages, custom greeting cards, jewlery, custom purse, invitations and announcements, one-of-a-kind designed photobooks, other unique photo gifts, and custom frames that complement your portraits.

Most importantly, I value the relationships I have with all my clients and their children. This relationship with you is just one of the qualities that set me apart. I consider the relationships I have with my clients to be long-term ones.  It is rewarding for me to see families grow and change and capture these images over time.

It is gratifying when year after year your children are excited to see me, to show me how much they have grown and to tell me about all the new things going on in their lives. That life connection is so valuable because time goes by very quickly. When you look at your beautiful portraits in a year from now, you will be able to see and feel your child at that moment in time…because I can capture the true Heart and Soul of your child and family…and what could be more valuable than that.
